Emilio Nares Foundation's (ENF) goal is to assist families with children who are battling childhood leukemia and other forms of childhood cancer. Its headquarters are located in the former Ronald McDonald House adjacent to Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. The Emilio Nares Foundation has received national recognition for proven programs, including recognition from the U.S. Surgeon General, President Barak Obama, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Most recently, Founder and Executive Director, Richard Nares was recognized as a Top 10 CNN Hero for 2013.

ENF’s Ride With Emilio provides transportation to ensure that sick children access chemotherapy and other crucial medical appointments. Prior to Ride With Emilio program, up to four children each day missed crucial cancer treatment at Children's Hospital San Diego due to transportation barriers. During the past eight years of operations, missed appointments due to transportation issues have been virtually eliminated. Last year in San Diego County, Ride With Emilio's three specially equipped vans traveled 38,481 miles providing 2,199 trips for patients and their accompanying family members.

Loving Tabs Healing T-Shirts are designed to allow access to medical devices without lifting or removing a patient's garment, providing a sense of “normalcy” among children receiving chemotherapy and other medical treatment, and facilitating care. Loving Tabs have been developed and tested over the past two years with core funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and will be distributed nationally through the American Childhood Cancer Organization.

The ENF serves as an information and resource center for parents of children who have cancer. Its directory provides names of various community services that offer financial assistance, and it is available for any parent who needs emotional or spiritual support.
